Treating the Body, Mind and Spirit
Acupuncture, massage therapy and herbal medicine are not only ancient and proven healing practices used by millions of people all over the world, but modern and effective healing art forms that can be used to heal the body, mind and spirit and to help you to obtain your health and performance goals.
Many modalities are used in my practice. Among them are: Acupuncture, Massage Therapies, Cupping, Gua Sha, Tui Na, Herbal Remedies, Nutrition, Sound Therapy, Meditation, Essential Oils, Energy Work and Heat Therapy.
Acupuncture works by assisting the body to rebalance itself naturally. By inserting very fine sterilized needles at specific points of the body, acupuncturists are able to guide the body to heal itself and enhance its performance.
Common conditions treated in my practice include Muscle Aches and Pains, Musculoskeletal Disorders, Stress, Depression and Anxiety, Insomnia, Colds and Flu, Digestive and Urinary Irregularities, Headaches and Migraines, Low Immune Functions, Issues Associated with HIV, Allergies, Asthma, Neurological Disorders, Stroke Recovery, Impotence and Infertility, PMS and Irregular Periods, Smoking, and Addictions.

Massage Therapy/Tui Na
Medical Massage and tui na are often included as a part of acupuncture treatments depending on the condition I am treating and the time available. More information on massage as a standalone option is available in the Massage Therapy section.
Herbs and Nutrition
Most herbal prescriptions consist of natural plant and mineral products combined into formulas. The herbs in each formula are designed to work synergistically together to produce the healing response. Herbal formulas are customized for each person’s unique need. Herbs are used both internally and externally, as the treatment requires.
Food is also a useful tool in obtaining better health and performance. Many herbs are in fact food you cook with and eat. As Hippocrates said, “Let food be your medicine; Let medicine be your food.”
Cupping and Gua Sha
Cupping is the application of glass or plastic cups to the surface of the body. The suction created releases the muscles and myofascial adhesions, relieves pain and soreness, increases blood flow, and facilitates healing. It can be used to treat sore muscles, internal disharmonies and much more.
Gua sha is similar to cupping in its benefits but involves the use of a special tool applied to the surface of the body. Graston Technique is the modern reinvention of this ancient technique of Chinese Medicine.
Facial Rejuvenation treatments promote healthy and vibrant complexions by bringing qi and blood to the face and increasing production of elastin and collagen, and by treating the whole body constitutionally. Needles are applied to the body as we would with a regular treatment, but special needles are also used on the face, which take a little more time to place. Facial rejuvenation treatments require more delicate work and so last longer than regular acupuncture treatments and cost a bit more. A course of 10-12 treatments is recommended for best results.
You are unique as is everyone and so each treatment is unique and developed for the specific individual and the specific imbalance we are working to correct. But I don’t do this alone. I empower each patient to help heal themselves and to keep themselves in balance, in tune and at optimum performance levels.
Health takes time and dedication from both you and your practitioner. Often you will feel relief in a single session, and for certain issues like a cold, that may be all it will take. Most times it will require more treatments, time and patience to obtain and then maintain your ideal health goals.
Together we will work to achieve balance, improve performance and improve wellness for you with these natural healing arts.
